Ingress point bingo

A great find earlier in the week whilst assessing a property for reports of rodent activity. Upon inspection, we found signs of Rat droppings, footprints, and gnawing under the kitchen units. As with the majority of internal rodent issues, our aim is to find their point of access. Further inspection of the external perimeter and drain system surrounding the property revealed no signs of ingress or access.

With this property being semi detached, this lead us to the adjoining property. Our inspection of their drain system revealed the findings in the attached video - an uncapped gulley leading straight under the building.. bingo The homeowner approved our recommendations whilst on site and we fitted a stainless steel one way valve In the main outlet, allowing flow out of the building, but preventing further rodent ingress. We’ll revisit in 7 days to check things over. If we’re happy with our findings, we’ll fit a bung as a permanent measure of control.
